President Obama Endorses The Equality Act

The bill, introduced earlier this year in Congress by Democratic Sens. Jeff Merkley, Tammy Baldwin, Cory Booker and Rep. David N. Cicilline, would amend the 1964 Civil Rights Act to prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

The New York Governor Andrew Cuomo wants the state to prohibit discrimination against transgender people.

Greece

 

 

In November 2013, the European Court of Human Rights condemned Greece for discrimination against same-sex couples. This week, 162 LGBT couples have appealed against the conservative Greek state for such discrimination which continue.
