What a victory! Sharice Davids became the Democratic candidate in the Third Congressional District in Kansas. She managed to win against Kevin Yoder, a Republican who served since 2011. Beforehand, she had defeated five Democratic candidates.

As we had seen a few days ago, both Oklahoma and Kansas approved laws allowing adoption agencies to discriminate against LGBT families. Connecticut, for its part, has decided to welcome LGBT parents who want to adopt or foster a child.

Anti-LGBT legislations are under consideration in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Colorado. They would allow religiously affiliated child placement agencies to discriminate against same-sex couples seeking to adopt.

Two anti-trans bills introduced in Arizona

Representative Anthony Kern introduced two bills (HB 2293 and HB 2294) against the rights of transgender people.

California now prohibits state-funded and state-sponsored travel to states that discriminate against LGBTQ people.

In last January, the Rev. Cynthia Meyer, who officiates in Kansas in the United Methodist Church, had revealed she was lesbian during a sermon in front of her entire congregation.

Today, we unfortunately heard that the Rev. Meyer has just been placed on an involuntary leave of absence, which means she avoids a trial within her church, but she lost her position instead of her church in Edgerton near Kansas City.

A few weeks ago, Avery Jackson, an eight-year-old trans girl, managed the goal she already had set for three years, ie to raise funds to open a home for transgender people.
