Sometimes people need a “Come to Jesus meeting”. For those who don’t know what that means it is just simply saying that a person needs a serious no holds bar reality check. These are those last resort intervention type meetings. Although I write this column offering my advice it is ultimately up to the person posing the question to decide whether or not they want to take the advice I have given.
So why do I do it? Why do I post every week on the slim chance of someone actually listening? I do it because it is our responsibility as part of the lesbian movement to engage in the idea of community and help each other. Some paint, some lobby, some start organizations, and some preach on soapboxes on street corners. I write.

Lesbian relationships can be fraught with all kinds of angst. Some of it is unearned and a lot of it is self-induced. Being friends with exes. How many of you just had your blood boil at the very thought of that? When someone is good friends with an ex, where there is that unbreakable bond, then that should be respected. I always wonder about the self-esteem of people who worry about their partner being friends with an ex. If the ex is an unhealthy person and causes your partner grief and sorrow then by all means step in with some advice. Advice being the key word.
I don’t understand how some cultures, religions or people can tell other people whom they can or cannot love. Here in America the text of the second section of the Declaration of Independence reads: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."
Article 1 of the UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS states: All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of humanity."
How could there possibly be any legal question or argument to prohibit the right of some to love?

My girlfriend is friends with ALL of her exes, is that reasonable or normal? Plus - I don't like all of them and some of them dislike me. I can tell that some of them have less than flattering things to say about me and I suspect they would like to see me gone from her life? Did you have that problem on Lesbos?
How many times have you had a partner for a while and there are things she does or does not do that drives you crazy? seriously, imagine having a dollar for every time you thought "I wish she would..." or "I wish she wouldn't..." ???
A Good Kisser is Remembered Affectionately Forever
Today is National Kissing Day and I think a few kissing tips are in order not just for lesbians, but for all woman and their lovers. I have had many overtures of affection during my life and although houses, cars, vacations and general success are important displays of mature affection and passion, I have yet to find anything more powerful or satisfying than a tender, provocative passionate kiss.
