Seonam Girls High School Investigators lesbian kiss

South Koreans were recently surprised and numerous complaints were filed with the Korea Communications Standards Commission following a kiss between two women in one of the most popular series in the country.

Seonam Girls High School Investigators

The series «Seonam Girls High School Investigators» follows a group of five high school girls who founded a detective club in the Seonam Girls' High School and are trying to solve mysteries. The series can address important issues such as discrimination, suicide or abortion.

The creators of the series have also wanted to address homosexuality. They defended the kiss and consider it as «necessary to the plot.»

The Korea Communications Standards Commission, meanwhile, said: «We will decide whether this is an issue after we look into it, and whether there is any violation of broadcast policy.»

According to MSNBCMSNBC, in recent years, the country’s TV drama industry has tried to include more culturally-sensitive social issues, including gay characters and teenage pregnancy.
