Summertime, a lesbian love story full of feminism

A beautiful lesbian movie has been released in France. Directed by Catherine Corsini, “Summertime” tells the love story between Delphine and Carole, or when a Parisian meets a peasant.

After the revolution of students and workers in May 1968, the 70s marked the beginning of the feminist movement in France.

The floor gradually opened on topics such as contraception, women and LGBT rights.

It is in this context that Delphine (Izïa Higelin), a peasant woman, settled in Paris away from her parents to become independent and to live freely her lesbian life.

Carole (Cécile De France) is a Parisian who is passionate about the cause of women. She is dating a man named Manuel.

Thanks to her action within a feminist group, Carole meets Delphine and they quickly fall in love.

Summertime” is a drama full of emotion and charm as you can already see in the trailer below that includes English subtitles.

The movie will be screened at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2015.
