Lisa Cholodenko, who directed The Kids Are Allright, was elected members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Lisa Cholodenko is a lesbian film and television writer/director.

She is best known for her comedy-drama The Kids Are All Right, which was nominated for a number of awards including four Academy Awards.

She also wrote and directed the lesbian movie High Art.

As reports TheWrap, the 43-member Board of Governors is the seat of power at Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), with ultimate authority over corporate management, control and general policies, including Oscar rules and the invitation of new members.
