New York Turkish Film Festival Features LGBT Documentary 'My Child'

Written by

My Child

The 13th New York Turkish film festival will be held at the Theatre of SVA starting from May 16 to May 25. This year, My Child, a documentary directed by Can Candan and produced by Surela Film on parents having LGBT children in Turkey, will be part of the selection.

This documentary treats at the same time the acceptance of Turkish LGBT children by their parents while concentrating more on the experiment, feelings of the parents, in a very conservative society. One meets the parents in particular at meetings with a group of support called the LISTAG and at meetings for the preparation of the Pride March of Istanbul from which they want to belong.

The diffusion of this documentary will take place on May 18 at 6:30PM.

If you cannot attend the projection of the film in New York, know that it is possible to watch it online at the following link:
