'Pride' To Close The 2014 Cannes Film Festival

Written by

In a little less than one month will take place the International Film Festival of Cannes and "Pride", a film about gay and lesbian activists, will close the Directors’ Fortnight.

The film “Pride”, directed by Matthew Warchus, tells the true story of a group of gay and lesbian activists who decides to raise money to support the families of the striking miners in Wales in 1984.

But the National Union of Mineworkers is embarrassed to receive their support.

The activists then decide to ignore the Union and go direct to the miners to make their donation in person and thus create a link which continues in the history.
