The cast of lesbian film «Carol» is expanding with the addition of the actresses Sarah Paulson and Rooney Mara.

«Carol,» which would normally be released this year, is an adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's book «The price of salt.»

The movie, directed by Todd Haynes, tells the story of Therese, a designer who, as she does not find a job in her field, is engaged in a store.

There she met Carol, a woman who is about to divorce. A passionate love story begins, punctuated by fear. Carol is afraid of losing custody of her children because of this relationship.

Carol will be played by Cate Blanchett and, at first, Mia Wasikowska was announced to take the role of Therese but she was replaced by Rooney Mara.

Sarah Paulson has also joined the cast in the role of Carol's former lover and current confidante.
