Out singer and musician St Vincent, aka Annie Clark, will debut as a filmmaker with a new adaptation of Oscar Wilde's classic novel "The Picture of Dorian Gray".

Written by David Birke and developed by Lionsgate, the film will follow the story of a young woman who remains eternally young while her portrait ages. In this movie, Dorian Gray will be represented as a woman. There have already been a lot of adaptations of Dorian Gray but I think this is the first time that the character is a woman.

Although this movie will be Clark's debut feature, she already has experience in filmmaking. She has recently co-written, directed and composed the music for "Birthday Party", a short film which was screened at the last Sundance Film Festival as part of the XX horror anthology. The latter is available on Netflix since March.
