The Lesbian Movie "Carol" Will Debut At The 2015 Cannes Film Festival

Written by

«Carol,» with Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara, is the most awaited film of this year and it will debut at the Cannes Film Festival where it will compete for the Palme d'Or.

cannes film festival 2015Based on the novel «The Price of Salt» written by lesbian author Patricia Highsmith, «Carol» tells the love story of Carol (Blanchett) and Thérèse (Mara) in New York in the 50s'.

The Cannes Film Festival will take place from May 13 to 24. I will certainly keep you informed if the film won the Palme d'Or, though, without being pessimistic, I doubt that the jury awards a lesbian film this year again. Last year, «La Vie d'Adèle» («Blue Is The Warmest Color») had created a sensation by becoming the first film about a lesbian love story to win the Palme d'Or at Cannes. But who knows...?

Otherwise the official release of the film is scheduled for this fall.
