The Judicial Committee of the House of Pennsylvania approved a bill that would include hate crimes based on sexual orientation and gender identity in state law.

By a 19-4 vote, the committee has allowed the bill to move a little closer to its implementation in order to provide additional protections for LGBT people.

This project will also allow protections based on sex and disability.
