A Lesbian In The Denver's City Council

Written by

Denver elected a lesbian in its city council.

It is the first time that a woman openly lesbian is a member of the town council in Denver. Robin Kniech won against 5 other candidates.

“I ran to work for all Denver families,” Kniech said Tuesday, “but I know this is a meaningful day for our LGBT community. We were happy to earn so many important endorsements, but I’m especially grateful to the Victory Fund for everything they did for our campaign.”

Victory Fund President and CEO Chuck Wolfe congratulated Kniech: "This is an important milestone for the city. We are very proud of Robin and her campaign team, and we’re excited that the LGBT community in Denver will now have an authentic voice with a vote in city government."
