A Lesbian Will Run San Diego Mayor's Seat

Written by

San Diego County district attorney, Bonnie Dumanis, announced that she will be candidate at the post of mayor of San Diego next year.

Dumanis, republican district attorney and former judge of the Superior Court, openly lesbian, decided to run against Karl DeMaio, another candidate for the election.

According to Los Angeles times, Dumanis promised to end the rancor that has gripped City Hall over pension issues, taxation and budget cutting.

"As long as we take sides in what has become a war on how to handle our financial crisis in San Diego, all of us lose," Dumanis said in the e-mail. "It doesn't have to be this way."
