A New Challenge Was Launched In Arizona Against The Refusal Of The State To Give The Same Benefits To The Gay Employees' Partners

Written by

The State of Arizona will be sued to determine whether it has the right to discriminate partners of gay employees.

The Governor Brewer refused to sign the bill that would have allowed all employees to be treated fairly by receiving the same benefits.

The state continues to discriminate against gay employees' partners by denying them these benefits it gives to heterosexual couples.

"The state is saying with one hand, oh, you have to be married to get these benefits, but with the other hand, oh you can't get married, you people over here," said Tara Borelli of Lambda Legal.
