One remembers Constance McMillen in 2010, a lesbian student who pursued her school because the school's officials had refused that she goes to the prom with her girlfriend. Constance won her lawsuit.
In Utah, a student of a high school sent a report to ACLU after she was asked to leave the her school's homecoming dance because she came with her girlfriend according to FOX 13 News.
Representatives from Equality Utah say the incident occurred last month in Sevier County and that the student felt so humiliated, she was compelled to act.
ACLU asked to respect the right otherwise they will file a lawsuit. The organization added that it received the immediate confirmation of a school district superintendent saying he will "personally instruct each of the principals in his district that LGBT students must not be excluded from school activities, like dances."
