Attempt To Protect US LGBT Workers

LGBT EEOC

The Equal Employment Opportunities Commission (EEOC) has filed a complaint earlier this week in an attempt to protect LGBT restaurant workers from harassment.

Indeed, a lawsuit opposes a gay worker, another perceived as gay and the Scottsdale Wine Café. The two workers reportedly received numerous insults from their colleagues and therefore filed a complaint with the EEOC before the United States District Court in Arizona after the management's ignorance.

In the complaint the EEOC declares that these acts violate Title VII of the Civil Rights Act. Although it is not known yet whether the Trump administration will accept Title VII as applied to anti-LGBT discrimination, and let's be honest, it would be a surprise if it accepts this, the complaint represents a great attempt to improve protections for LGBTQ workers.
