California could become the first state to ban "conversion therapies" to anyone

California is about to go one step further to completely ban "conversion therapy".

The current law prohibits "conversion therapy" to minors but if Bill 2943 is passed, "ex-gay therapies" will be totally illegal.

In April 2018, the bill was first adopted by the California Assembly and was later approved by the Senate by a 25-11 vote. It must now return to the Assembly a second time. If it is passed again, it will prohibit "conversion therapies" to all LGBT people, regardless of their age.

In 2012, California had become the first US state to ban "conversion therapy" to LGBT minors and could become the first state to ban "conversion therapy" to anyone.
