We all want laws allowing marriage equality and not civil unions, don't we? 'Civil unions' sounds like backtracking but I think that each law which can bring more equality is always good and one should not forget that in most states, which today allow same-sex marriage, there wasinitially a law allowing civil unions so let's hope that will be the case in Colorado too. Anyway, that seems to go well, the bill to legalize civil unions passed a new stage and is very closed to the final vote in the House.

According to The Associated Press, the bill cleared the Finance Committee on Wednesday on a 7-6 party-line vote with Republicans in opposition. The proposal is expected to clear another committee and be voted on by the full House next week, the last step before the governor John Hickenlooper's desk who should normally sign it.
