Danica Roem became the first trans woman to win a Virginia state legislative primary

Written by

Danica Roem

Danica Roem has just marked the history by winning the Democratic primary for the Virginia House of Delegates’ 13th District. She thus becomes the first trans candidate who has won a legislative primary in this state.

She beat three Democratic candidates and will soon face the Republican Bob Marshall, also known as "Bigot Bob" for his extremely anti-LGBTQ positions.

If ever Danica wins this election, she would become Virginia's first trans state lawmaker. We wish her good luck!
