A high school in Eagle Pass, Texas made history after students didn't crown a king and a queen but two queens.

Eileen Hernandez, lesbian, and her straight ally Jennifer Mijares have both been crowned queens of their high school.

Hernandez and Mijares are members of the Gay Straight Alliance in their school. This crowning marks a real effort to support LGBT rights in Texas.

With the club’s blessing, as reports NBCLatino, the girls campaigned for Homecoming Court. It did create some controversy on campus also started a conversation.

"One negative comment changed it to 10 positive comments," Mijares says.

"If one person would try bringing us down, so many others would say no, keep your head up, what you guys are doing is awesome," Hernandez says.

It was so awesome that they won, congratulations!!!
