Today, 2 laws concerning LGBTQ rights will be reintroduced in the congress.

First, the immigration law, called the Uniting American Families Act, will be reintroduced by Democratic representatives who wish that american gays and lesbians be able to sponsor their foreign partners or spouses to become citizens of the United States in order to stop the separation of couples and families because for straight couples, the foreign spouse becomes automatically an American citizen and this is not the case for gay and lesbian couples, the foreign partner has to return in its country.

The Employment Anti-Discrimination Act will be also reintroduced. This bill would stop work discrimination on the basis of gender identity or sexual orientation.
