Illinois Republican Governor Candidate Bruce Rauner Said He Wants To Repeal The Marriage Equality Law

An Illinois Republican governor candidate announced that if he were elected he would overturn the marriage equality law.

The law only just passed, Bruce Rauner indicated that he would repeal the law because he thinks that this question should have been subjected to a referendum.

The current governor Pat Quinn, as for him, answered that a referendum on the question was not necessary.

“I didn’t need a referendum to tell me what was the right thing to do.

“The right thing was to pass the marriage equality bill and for me, the governor, to sign it into law,” he said.
