Marriage Equality Generates Million Dollars

A new analysis shows the legalization of marriage equality in Minnesota would add $42 million to the economy of the state and $3 million in tax revenue during the first three years.


Already last month the Williams Institute at UCLA did another analysis which shows this time that if the state of Illinois legalized same-sex marriage it would even gain $100 million in additional spending and $8.5 million in tax revenue.


In Minnesota, where live approximately 5,000 same-sex couples according to Twincities, the $42 million moreover would be generated by the organization of these marriages and tourism without taking into account the spending of other couples who will come in the state to marry.


A bill to legalize marriage equality will be introduced soon besides in Minnesota.
