Michigan To Try To Pass Marriage Equality In 2014 Or In 2016

Written by

More and more states prepare to pass marriage equality or to repeal bans in 2014 or in 2016 and it is the case of Michigan.

After a new poll which shows that a majority of Michiganders are favorable to the legalization of marriage for same-sex couples, LGBTQ rights advocates decided to try to repeal the constitutional marriage equality ban in the state of Michigan.

A first attempt will take place in 2014 even if this one will be hard to pass because Republicans control the legislature. But a second attempt will take place in 2016 which stands a good chance of passing if the first failed.
