More Rights For LGBT Couples In Wisconsin

Written by

The Supreme Court of Wisconsin upheld a law that recognizes same-sex couples does not violate the state constitution and thus give them access to certain rights, even if the equal marriage is not yet recognized.

The court upheld a law that establishes a registry for same-sex couples. Thus, these couples will benefit from a right to hospital visits, a family medical leave to care for a stricken partner, health benefits under a partner's insurance and the right to inherit assets when a partner dies.
