While a survey reveals that more than the majority of Americans support trans troops, the battle for trans rights continues. A lawsuit was launched against the law which ban trans people from serving openly in the military.

The most positive point following this ban is a survey that reveals that 58% of Americans oppose it. Especially when White House emails show that the Trump administration regards trans people as mentally disordered people.

The National Center for Lesbian Rights and GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders filed a federal complaint together in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

The complaint was filed on behalf of five trans members of the military forces. They believe that this prohibition violates the equal protection and due process provisions of the Fifth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

To note that a new study shows that discharging and replacing trans troops will cost $960 million.

If transgender people were allowed to serve openly in the military, their health care costs would not be more than $8.4 million per year. According to another report, this represents a small budget compared to the one spent by the Department of Defense in Viagra each year.
