New Mexico Welcomes Gay Couples Married Elsewhere

Written by

New Mexico does not allow gay marriage, whatever, it will reconized same-sex couples legally married in other states or countries.

"A comprehensive legal analysis by my office concludes that valid same-sex marriages in other states would likely be valid in New Mexico" said Attorney General Gary King.

Will the Governor Susana Martinez allow marriage equality in New Mexico?

Nothing is sure, in a statement, her spokesperson wrote: "Gov. Martinez made it clear during the campaign that she opposes same-sex marriage. It's important to note that no New Mexico court has ruled on this issue."
