A new poll shows indeed that 62% of the population is opposed to such a law in the state. In fact, only 28% are favorable to same-sex marriage. The rest does not know or did not want to answer.
However, as The Knoxville Sentinel reports, a great majority, 57%, is opposed to "a law forbidding any instruction or discussion of homosexuality in eighth grade and lower classes in Tennessee public schools," also called the Don' t Say Gay bill.
31% would be favorable to it and 8% do not know or refused to answer.
