No LGBTQ Plates Allowed In North Carolina

Contrary to South Carolina, North Carolina decided to refuse LGBT plates.

The North Carolina’s Department of Motor Vehicles recently said that the requests had been rejected "due to sex, drug and profanity references."

However, among the list of the words considered as sex, drug and profanity references, all the LGBTQ references were also included.

According to Goqnotes, DMV spokeswoman Marge Howell explaines the refusal of the "GAY", "LESBIAN", "QUEER2", etc plates because "the Division may refuse to issue a plate with a letter combination that is offensive to good taste and decency."
