Now People Can Talk About LGBTs In Anoka-Hennepin School District

Written by

From now on, the school district of Anoka-Hennepin in Minnesota doesn't require teachers to remain neutral concerning the sexual orientation anymore. It should help to stop LGBT bullying.

Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) said in a statement, "the new policy expressly requires district staff to affirm the dignity and self-worth of all students, including LGBT students". It means the school district will be obligated to provide "a safe and respectful learning environment for all students, regardless of race, religion, gender or sexual orientation."

It is a good news because this school district was until now known to deny intimidations sudden by LGBT students and several among them committed suicide.
