Don't Ask Don't Tell: An Exit Strategy

The Senate will soon start debating the controversial repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell, the policy implemented during the Clinton administration 20 years ago which allowed gays and lesbians to serve in the armed forces as long as they stayed in the closet. The House of Representatives voted to repeal the law earlier this year and President Obama is ready to sign the repeal into law once it passes the Senate. After two decades of the homophobic policy, repeal finally seems feasible.
