While the Supreme Court of the United States could take a decision on marriage equality on tomorrow, June 25, a new Gallup poll shows that over the majority of Americans would have no objection to elect an openly gay president. In fact, what bothers them the most is that their president is an atheist.

The question asked was: «Between now and the 2016 political conventions, there will be discussion about the qualifications of presidential candidates – their education, age, religion, race and so on. If your party nominated a generally well-qualified person for president who happened to be – would you vote for that person?»

Catholic was the response that won with 93%.

90% of respondents would have no objection to have a president who is a woman, or to have a black, Hispanic or Jewish president.

As for the openly gay president, he is between the Mormon President (81%) and Evangelical Christian one (74%), also with a result of 74%.

Then come the socialist president, the Muslim one, and finally, the atheist one with 58%.
