Six LGBT Couples Launched A Challenge Against The Ban On Marriage Equality In Colorado

Written by

Six LGBT couples have launched a challenge against the ban on equal marriage in Colorado.

This constitutional ban was approved by voters in 2006.

Once past the federal court, there a good chance that this case reaches the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.

"Colorado law unlawfully denies the issuance of marriage licenses, and refuses to recognize the marriages of certain couples, based solely on the sex of the persons in the marriage union," the lawsuit says.

Two other challenges that oppose the ban are already awaiting trial in Colorado.
