Six Same-Sex Couples Launch A Challenge Against The Equal Marriage Ban In South Dakota

Written by

South Dakota

There remains from now on nothing any more but one American state where the marriage equality ban was not challenged yet. It is North Dakota! Thursday, six couples brought a lawsuit against the equal marriage ban in South Dakota.

So these six same-sex couples will try to make overturn the law passed in 1996 by the Legislature and the constitutional amendment approved by the voters in 2006.

It would seem however that there could also be soon a challenge in North Dakota where a constitutional ban is in place since 2004.
