The 9th Circuit Court Of Appeals Refused To Rehear The Idaho Marriage Equality Ban Case

Written by

The judges of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals announced Friday their refusal to hold a new hearing on the prohibition of marriage in Idaho they had struck down last October.

In October, only three judges had examined the Idaho equal marriage ban case and had repealed it. Supporters of the ban, led by Governor Otter, have asked that a larger panel of judges examines their appeal. It is this demand that has been rejected.

Now, the appeal will probably be sent to the U.S. Supreme Court.
