The Cancellation Of The Equal Marriage Ban Has Been Confirmed In Arkansas

Written by

The 8th Circuit Court of Appeals has confirmed the cancellation of the marriage equality ban in Arkansas.

Last year, Judge Kristine Baker had indeed repealed the equal marriage ban passed in 2004 and the amendment that defined marriage as a union between a man and a woman.

Following the decision of the Supreme Court last June, Governor of Arkansas Asa Hutchinson and Attorney General Leslies Rutledge had asked the clerks to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
