The Equality Act was reintroduced in the congress

We saw that Trump signed the law allowing religious freedom, know also that last week the Equality Act was reintroduced to the congress.

So this Equality Act would include protections for LGBTQ people in the federal laws. It would provide protection in important areas: housing, education, access to public spaces, employment, accommodations, jury service and federally-funded programs.

It would strengthen the civil rights act of 1964 by including protections based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

It had already been introduced when Barack Obama was president. Even though it is a bipartisan act and has the support of 240 congress members, it won't be easy to get its approval, especially in the Senate and the House where many Republicans oppose it.
