Difficult to like all these changes of mind. Is there only a senator in the list who truly supports marriage for same-sex couples? Not sure.
Here other senators who now supports marriage equality:
Senator Tim Johnson "after lengthy consideration" decided to support the legalization of same-sex marriage.
In a press release, he said "this position doesn't require any religious denomination to alter any of its tenets; it simply forbids government from discrimination regarding who can marry whom."
State Representative Ed Sullivan Jr. of Mundelein also supports marriage equality and in particular the bill which would allow same-sex couples to marry in Illinois whereas, recently, he was opposed to civil unions.
"The reality is, because my mother-in-law is gay, I have more of an understanding and familiarity with same-sex couples," he told The Tribune.
To finish, the last (for today) is Senator Orrin Hatch, a Republican of Utah. On the other hand, contrary to the others, Hatch doesn't support marriage equality but civil unions. He is a pro-"traditional" marriage.
