The Republican Candidate Marco Rubio Does Not Believe In Marriage Equality

Written by

Marco Rubio

We now know the candidates for presidential elections to be held in 2016 in the United States.

Marco Rubio is one of them and he clearly still does not believe in marriage equality.

Bob Schieffer of CBS News asked last Sunday if Rubio was for or against the equal marriage and if he thought that homosexuality is a choice. This is what Rubio said:

«It’s not that I’m against gay marriage. I believe the definition of the institution of marriage should be between one man and one woman.

«States have alwatys regulated marriage and if a state wants to have a different definition, you should petition the state legislature and have a political debate.

«I don’t think courts should be making that decision and I don’t believe same-sex marriage is a constitutional right.

«I also don’t believe that your sexual preferences are a choice for the vast and enormous majority of people.

«The bottom line is, I believe that sexual preference is something people are born with.»

Rubio has very little chance of winning the primary and of becoming the Republican candidate for these elections.
