Two bills to ban “conversion therapies” to LGBTQ minors introduced in Indiana

Two Democratic lawmakers introduced bills banning “conversion therapies” for minors in Indiana!

Representative Chris Chyung and Senator Mark Stoops have both introduced legislation to prohibit health professionals from attempting to change the sexual orientation or gender identity of LGBTQ minors.

With Indiana, we have to be honest, it will be very difficult to pass the law. Republicans in this state are fervent opponents of LGBTQ rights. Last summer, they voted in favor of maintaining the language of their platform that still describes marriage as a union between a man and a woman.

More and more “conversion therapies” bans are being adopted in US states or cities. It only remains to see what will happen in Indiana, let‘s hope a favorable outcome for young LGBTQ people.
