Two Bills To Ban 'Ex-Gay' Therapies For Minors Were Introduced In Illinois

Written by

Two bills to ban the "ex-gay" therapies to the minors of Illinois were recently introduced.

The first bill, HB5569 or the 'Conversion Therapy Prohibition Act', was introduced in the House by state Representative Kelly Cassidy while the Senator William Delgado introduced, as for him, SB3575.

Cassidy said that Governor Pat Quinn supports both bills. Illinois could thus join California and New Jersey where the "reparative" therapies were prohibited to those under eighteen years of age.
