U.S. Episcopal Church will allow LGBT couples to marry in its churches. The right of some bishops to refuse to perform these weddings will be preserved.

Following the Episcopal Church’s General Convention meeting, leaders approved the resolution on the opening of the church to LGBT couples.

According to the Episcopal News Service report, the chairman of the General Convention’s Task Force on the Study of Marriage said: "We are fond of saying around the Episcopal Church that all are welcome, and all means all, y’all."

From December 2018, LGBT couples will be able to marry in Episcopal Churches.
