U.S. Supreme Court Refused To Halt Oregon Marriage Equality

Written by

Thanks to a federal court, the marriage equality has been from now on possible in Oregon already for several weeks but its opponents brought the matter to the U.S. supreme court to try to halt it. They encountered a refusal of the court!

The U.S. supreme court refused to halt the equal marriage in Oregon. As reports The GuardianThe Guardian, at present, a federal appeals court is considering whether a group opposed to gay marriage can intervene in the case.

Indeed, this opposition does not come from the attorney general Ellen Rosenblum, who refused to defend the same-sex marriage ban, but from the National Organization for Marriage.

With the decision of the appeals court concerning the organization, one will then know if the decision which overturned the marriage equality ban in Oregon is appealed.
