Utah Could Recognized 1,000 Same-Sex Marriages

Written by

The good news is followed since, after the legalization of the equal marriage in Oregon, then in Pennsylvania, more than 1,000 same-sex marriages were recognized in Utah.

Indeed, more than 1,000 couples married between December 20th, date to which judge Robert Shelby overturned the marriage equality ban in Utah, and January 6th, the day when the Supreme court of the state has stayed this decision.

The lawsuit had been brought in January by 4 couples and the ACLU.

It will be necessary despite everything to wait 21 days before the act comes into effect, time for the state to appeal against this decision.
