Virginia Senate Did Not Pass Anti-Discrimination Bill

Written by

In Virginia, a bill prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation has just been blocked by the senate.

The law against the discriminations did not prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation. The senate was controlled by Democrats but recently, the senate of Virginia became Republican and the bill called SB263 did not pass a vote, 8-7.

Last year, this same bill was passed by the Senate when it had a Democratic majority, only to be defeated in the Republican-led House of Delegates as reports Hamptonroads.
