After the commotion caused by the dismissal of Margie Winters, openly lesbian director of religious education and outreach within the Waldron Mercy Academy, after her marriage, the principal of the establishment will organize several meetings and hear parents, faculty and staff while explaining the decision to dismiss Winters.

The Waldron Mercy Academy is a private religious institution that depends on the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. The principal Nell Stetser said in a statement to understand that this decision not to renew the contract of Margie Winters «continues to cause a great deal of pain and heartfelt questioning.»

A first meeting will take place in September to better explain the reasons for the decision to parents, faculty and staff. Another meeting will then be held later this fall in which Waldron community will be invited to speak with the school principal. Will it come out something good?

Although the outcome here will not be positive for Margie who will not be reinstated, note the very important support of parents who really struggled to reintegrate Margie by organizing meetings with the board of trustees, by trying to mobilize a lot of people on social networks and by bringing a petition to the archdiocesan headquarters.

Of course, don't get me wrong, it doesn't delight me to know Margie unemployed, but not a long time ago, parents rejoiced to see a lesbian far from their kids.
