New Web Series K&A Hopes To Bring Female Characters To The Forefront

Written by

K&A, Karly & Alex, is a new comedic web series which comes from Boston and which tells the story of Karly, straight, and Alex, lesbian, best friends since college, whose dysfunctional, co-dependent, drinking, and drug taking relationship impedes them from ever finding someone special in their lives besides each other.

K&A is created and produced by Katie Shannon (Thompson Films) whose short films were recently selected at LGBT films festivals in Chicago, London, Melbourne... For Shannon, it was important to bring female characters to the forefront and to show that Boston can be a great film scene.

Both characters are played by Audrey Claire Johnson and Ashley Elmi.

Audrey Claire Johnson, who plays Karly, is an actress who worked on films, commercials, plays or on various media projects and which had played in the first web series created by Shannon, 617, which is more and more successful.

Ashley Elmi plays Alex. She is a member of Improv Asylum's NXT cast and of WNBA, an improv comedy troupe.

Currently, the series is only at its beginning and the team hopes to collect the money necessary to shoot a first season of five episodes. If you want to help them to realize their project to offer a first season of K&A, get meme-ified, become a star or just give a dollar here: Kickstarter - K&A
