Created and directed by award-winning filmmaker Rolla Selbak, "Kiss Her I'm Famous" stars The Real L-Word’s Tracy Ryerson and Ilea Matthews (The Violent Kind) as two down-and-out best friends who look for fame in all the wrong places.
At a time where gratuity and fake publicity seems to be able to catapult just about anyone who knows how to press "record" on a camcorder into the spotlight, “Kiss Her I’m Famous” is a web series that satirizes the booming business of the sex tape madness, and how celebrity wannabes utilizes their home movies as a ticket to greater stardom and a major payday.
Season 1 premiered this year to great success. The trailer alone reached 1 MILLION+ combined views on YouTube in less than a week!
Season 2 of "Kiss Her I'm Famous" is slated to debut January 2014 on tellofilms.com. Comporting a total of 7 episodes, Season 2 will feature a special appearance by Noureen DeWulf, best known for her role as sexy therapy patient Lacey in Charlie Sheen’s hit TV comedy, Anger Management. Now in its 21st year, Raindance Film Festival is Europe’s leading independent Film Festival showcasing feature films, shorts and docs from around the world and specialising in independent films and directorial debuts. As the internet has created many new opportunities for independent film-makers, web series have become the new short-form content that creatives and studio executives look at to find the next generation. Hollywood actors are taking pay cuts to be in web series (US stars Lisa Kudrow, Jennifer Beals and Jerry Seinfeld have made web series).
The 2013 Raindance event sees the first ever Web Fest as a new addition to its already exciting line-up, dedicated entirely to the latest surge of indie web series.
Web Fest will feature a packed schedule of panel discussions, with subjects covering audience development, lessons from YouTubers, product placement and branding, and future of web TV. There will also be world premiere screenings, including Producing Juliet, the latest from Tina Cesa Ward, whose previous series Anyone But Me captured over 35 million views.
