Pope Benedict XVI Resigns

Written by

The news of the day is of course pope Benedict XVI's resignation. The world most anti-gay catholic has decided to put an end to its function of catholic church's leader.

It will be difficult for us to be saddened by the news. I have been surprised as I did not know that a pope could resign.

Apparently, it is not the first time that happens but the previous resignations were political. In this case, officially, health issues would be at the origin of the decision.

However, pope Benedict XVI will never have been an appreciated pope within the catholic church or among the faithful ones.

One thus waits now to know the new pope who will be elected before Easter.

As for knowing if he will be more tolerant on homosexuality, it is difficult to say but I think that he could not be worse than Benedict XVI, who distinguish himself by his anti-gay remarks during each of his official event.
